Review of Senior Management Structure in the provision of services at the Oberstown Campus

The Irish Youth Justice Service (IYJS) is currently progressing plans for the development of an integrated National Children Detention School in Oberstown, North Co. Dublin. This integrated facility will incorporate the existing schools in Oberstown in addition to making provision for those young offenders currently being detained in St Patrick’s Institution. While awaiting the completion of the new premises, IYJS is taking steps towards integrating existing structures and services.

As part of this process, IYJS requested the assistance of the Public Appointments Service in conducting a review of the existing structures and making recommendations in relation to the most appropriate school management structure. The key findings of the review and recommendations for an integrated management structure are outlined in this report and are now being examined by IYJS.
